About Me
Hi my name is Sharon McGee (MAR) and I am a qualified Reiki Master and Reflexologist, and a registered member of both The Reiki Association and The Association of Reflexologists (AoR). I live with my partner and I have two grown up children and both live with their partners in Brighton and Farnham. I recently moved to Thorpe Bay as I love being by the seaside and close to my parents.
During my 30’s I was living in Hong Kong and whilst living there I was introduced to Usui Reiki and Reflexology. On my return to the UK in 1997, I qualified in Level 1 & 2 Usui Reiki and after many years of practice, in October 2016 I became a Reiki Master. Beauty Therapy is another therapy that drew my interest in my 20s, especially facials, so in my 30s I undertook a Level 2 City & Guilds in Beauty Therapy qualification gaining a distinction. I found my true vocation in September 2018 when I signed myself up for C&G Level 3 Reflexology and qualified in March 2020.
Having qualified as a reflexologist in March 2020 due to the Pandemic I have been unable to start my practice until now. During lockdown I decided to continue my professional development and undertook further courses in Facial Reflexology Module 1, Facial Reflexology Module 2 and Zone Face Lift with Ziggie Bergman, Mindfulness Reflexology and Menopause Reflexology with Sally Earlam and Menopause Reflexology with Ziggie Bergman. What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and well-being. Stress reduction is key in optimising good health and building resilience.
Reflexology is a touch therapy based on the theory that different points of the feet, lower legs, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists will work these areas.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is Japanese for ‘universal life energy’ and is used to describe a system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.

Is Reflexology suitable for me?
Reflexology can be received by anyone at any age from newborn babies to end of life care and everyone in-between, however, there are times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment. Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice. Always consult your GP if you have any concerns about your health.

What to Expect
*A full medical history will be requested on your first treatment, and you will be asked to sign a consent form for treatment. This information will be kept confidential. Reflexology is a very easy therapy to receive; depending on the type of reflexology, the most clothing that will have to be removed for a treatment to take place will be your socks and shoes. You may feel areas of transient discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing.
Please give feedback to me as this may show the response of your body to treatment and to tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs. After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very noticeable way. Most people note a sense of well-being and relaxation; however, sometimes people report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is usually transitory and I believe that it is part of the healing process.
Reiki Treatments
Reiki - 30 minutes : £35.00*
Reiki - 60 minutes : £45.00*
Reiki treatments can be given to anyone in the normal course of their life. Reiki can be used alongside other conventional or complementary treatment. Reiki treatments can help the body emotionally or spiritually. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system.

I am based in Thorpe Bay situated 10 minutes from Southend-on-Sea and easily accessible from Leigh-on-Sea, and the greater Essex area.

COVID-19 Protocol
All clients will be asked to sanitise their hands when entering the building. I will wear the appropriate PPE and after each treatment, PPE will be discarded and all room accessories replaced with fresh ones.
The treatment room will be thoroughly santised in-between clients. Kindly be advised all treatments are subject to change in line with Government Guidelines, however, I will do my best to give you as much advanced notice as possible.
